The wonderful Mr. Brandon should have given all families a packet that included an updated supply list for this school year. I have included a copy here:
The only thing you might have trouble locating is the primary composition book. I will have a sample of one at Meet the Teacher (which will take place on August 9th). Here is what they look like:
Hello! I’m Mrs. Spiegler and I am so excited to be your son or daughter’s teacher this year! I know Kindergarten can be tough so I will do my best to make sure this year goes as smoothly as possible. Let me tell you a little bit about myself; I’m originally from the great city of St. Augustine, FL and relocated to Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida. I graduated in 2009 with my degree in Elementary Education. I’m going into my 9th year at Passport and every year it gets better and better!
I got married a few years ago!
Although I’m still getting used to the new last name! I’m still known as Ms. Brock to some former students around Passport.
These are our only children for now…
If you click on the link above it will take you to the list of words your child is expected to memorize this year. We move through them at the pace of about 3-5 per week. [If you need a copy of the list please let me know!!]
Please remember that these are SIGHT words, your child will have 3-5 seconds per word to be able to identify them. These words are designed to be memorized and not to sound out.
In the classroom you will find our ‘Sight Word Rain Clouds” proudly displayed. The big list is broken down into ‘color’ lists and after your child masters that ‘color’ list they will get the corresponding color on their rain cloud- to ultimately display a full rain cloud 🙂
**A great way to study sight words is flash cards!**
